We will meet at the training center on July 2 at 6PM in the Pheasant Room to discuss class format and expectations On July 8, 22, August 5, 19 instructors will release videos on a private Facebook page of skills to practice. Each instructional video will focus on 2-4 skills to practice (for example, cracks and alcoves) and show you how to set them up. Students will have the two week period between releases to watch the instructor videos, set up similar challenges, video their practices and post on our private Facebook group. Instructors will analyze the student videos and offer input. This format encourages students to practice exterior searches at convenient times without traveling to the training center . Although not required, it will be helpful for students to pair up to practice and video each other (or you can self video or ask a friend to video you). In each instructor video we will introduce skills, discuss set up parameters, alert students of what they should watch for while searching, and demo instructors' dogs working on the skills. After you've reviewed the instructor video, you'll find similar setups and video yourself practicing the skills. You will post your video on our private Facebook group for analysis and constructive feedback by the instructors (Flatten/Gallatin).
